australia- land and resources































The Land


Australia is a special country because it is also a continent. It has more than 12,000 miles of
coastline. It is home to one of the spectacular natural wonders in the world, The Great Barrier Reef. Due to millions of years of erosion Australia is the flattest continent in the world. The central lowlands holds Australia's most lushish farm lands along with the Great Artesian Basin which is 670,000 square miles of underground water.






The Climate
Australia is located in the Southern Hemisphere which means our winter is there summer and vise versa. They usually enjoy Christmas by spending time on the beach having a picinic. It is never to cold there to enjoy outdoor activities. The Rainfall varies from 40 inches to 10 inches.
















Plants and Animals

Australia is home to many different types of plants and trees
of all shapes and sizes. Some familiar ones might be The eucalyptus trees and it is home to the tallest hardwood tree in the world. this land is home to marsupials which carry their babies in pouches like kangaroos and the best animal ever next to a panda bear the koala bear. Their are also dingos platypuses and buffalos.










The Resources

The great land of Australia holds a vast abundancy of natural mineral resources. They are found on the exposed rocks that occur over much of the continent. They also have offshore drilling for oil. Although they have many mineral resources they lack the most important resource of all, water. But they obtain most of there money through wool exportation and that is why they sometimes say, "Australia travels on the sheep's back."
